KAMER 13: Christophe Beaumont
Kamer.13 is an initiative of the Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof, made possible by the Friends of the Fotomuseum Foundation. In Room 13, local photographers exhibit 13 photos to showcase the talent in the region to our visitors. These exhibitions last from 6 to 8 weeks and provide a varied addition to our regular exhibitions. On view from November 16: Christophe Beaumont
Christophe about his work:
For me, photography is about capturing moments in which people feel small compared to the grandeur of nature and finding connection in this. Each image shows a moment of tension or peace, as the figures sometimes almost disappear into the landscape. These images remind us how, even in remote places, we always feel a connection with our surroundings.
I find it fascinating how we find ourselves in nature, but also how nature sometimes shows something human-like; a cloud that resembles a smile, a mountain profile that resembles a face, or flames that take a recognizable shape. It's about adventure, risk and sense of wonder. I hope these photos show that nature is not just something to admire from a distance, but also something to really connect with.
